Note On: Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
The AAC has consulted with legal counsel regarding the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation, CASL, which came into effect on July 1, 2014.
We have been advised that the AAC does not need to receive explicit consent from AAC members in order to send them email communication. Fund raising is allowed as well as long as it is only sent to our members. Every year
when members sign up for membership, they are giving us implied consent to communicate with them and expect us to do so.
One of the methods we use to communicate with our members is Constant Contact. Each email is clearly identified as an AAC communication with AAC contact information on the bottom as well as an unsubscribe button.
AAC member clubs must determine for themselves the parameters of communicating with their members, competitors and clients.
email@example.com if you have any questions.
