Designed for those who wish to start, or already activiely participate in AAC Events; i.e. Agility Trials.  

Main functionalities 

  • AAC RULES: Find all AAC Rules, Regulations and Guidelines.
  • SERVICES: Register a Dog (or Junior Handler) to compete. To start participating in Trials, it is mandatory for a dog to have an AAC Dog ID card #. This Dog ID# (Or a Junior Handler#) is the key used to register in any Trial for statistics to be complied.  
  • UPCOMING EVENTS: Find Trials offered anywhere in the Country. These are listed in Upcoming Events. To register in these Trials, participants must use the links provided to those Clubs' events.  
  • RESULTS & STATISTICS View results & statistics of past Trials
**For additional services a person can create their free account (login) to gain access to the Registered Users Website.  It is refferred to as the "My Account" private page.

Once registered, a person has options to Apply for a membership and more. 
Members, Club-member, Judges and AAC representatives must use their "My Account" page  to gain access to the confidential information and functionalities specific to their roles in the AAC

  • AAC Memberswill find Information "For Members Only" librairies such as Bylaws, Official On Course Newsletters, printable Rulebook, policies and procedures, etc.
  • AAC Clubs-Hostswill find Trial Hosting Application information, host responsibilities, check on current Suspensions, etc.
  • AAC Judgeswill access Judges Handbook, tools/templates for preparing for a trial, etc..
** Until all functionalities are fully integrated, the website continues to link back to the legacy website pages.

Oct 3rd Update (Final Update)


If you are a Member, Club or Judge, logging into your account offers many privileged accesses not offered otherwise.  Hpwever, a few of these have been made available on the Public pages (See the page Footers) in order for you to easily consult information without logging in. Otherwise, the PUBLIC website is thought to be mainly for non-members, to find Trials, Results, Register a dog  or a Junior Handler to compete, etc.

Sept 26th Update

With the Website being out of service due to the Ottawa Tornado from the 21st to 24th, there has been some delays. Most recent changes have moved Elections info and Clubs Services in the bottom page menu, unless signed on to one's account.

Sept 18th Update

Forms issue where they were duplicated, has now been resolved.

UPCOMING EVENTS link to REGIONALS now show Approved Bids and Status during Evaluation for each Region.

New pictures have made their way to various pages. Changes made to Find a Club and Find a Judge functionaities to facilitate for Public. 

Rulebook access now provides Electronic log of changes as well as TABS by Effective date - etc.

Provider has not yet repaired the duplication of Forms.

Forms continue to appear multiple times, but do work. Changes to English Website have continued. The French website will be addressed once the English one has stabilized following any feedback over the next week.

ALL FORMS have been rendered unusable on the AAC website for the moment and should be re-established within 24-48 hours. IF needed, please contact to receive a required FORM for emergencies.

The IT administrator has begun making changes to the Website's English menus. This is being done in an effort to improve access to information and to reduce future problems due to duplicated information that have created maintenance issues. To accomplish this, several groupings will change over the next few days.

Highlights of the AAC Board meeting held on Thursday, February 15, 2018.

  • Judges Clinic exams for Starters/Advanced and Masters revised and approved.
  • Rebecca Dunstan retired as an AAC Judge.  The AAC would like to extend a thank you for her contribution to the AAC.
  • Judging fees and AAC minimum fee requirements revised and approved. Effective: January 1, 2019.
  • Discipline Committee (DC) Policy & Procedure (P&P) revisions:
    • To address social media misinformation and member frustration with a lack of transparency the Discipline Committee was approved to amend the DC P&P to include the publishing of DC sanction decisions to the AAC website member’s only page, or due to website constraints, to distribute by Constant Contact (email) to members requesting DC sanction decisions until the next On Course quarterly release in April 2018.
    • Approved amendment to the DC P&P to permit the DC to publish ALL DC decisions to the On Course quarterly Newsletter.
    •  Appointment of DC Screening Sub-Committee approved.  The AAC Administrator will now be able to send an initial complaint to the Screening Sub-Committee when needing to seek guidance.  A minimum of two members of the sub-committee must reject a case, with no member disagreeing and believing a case is valid for a case to be returned to the AAC Administrator as rejected.   Should any member of the sub-committee believe the case is valid, the case will be returned to the normal DC processing by the AAC Administrator and proceed to the Discipline Committee.  If the AAC Administrator receives no responses within 3 days of engaging the sub-committee, the case is to be processed as usual.  Note: A rejection would not be explained in detail, only that during an initial screening process the complaint was considered without merit, (not enough material in evidence or no witnesses or supporting statements, etc., not under the DC’s jurisdiction, or has failed to respect procedural guidelines. The complainant may choose to refile later after making changes that could then be rescreened. To avoid any type of influence, no direction of what is wrong nor will guidance on how to  address be provided.
  • Rule Updates/Clarifications/Amendments:
    • Judges Handbook Update v. 3.4 (Winter 2018 Edition) approved. 
    • Revisions to AAC Rulebook v7.0b, Sections 2.13 Scoring & Ranking, 3.5 Challenge and 3.7 Jumpers to clarify that dogs time must be equal to or less than SCT to qualify. Replacing several places in the Rulebook that state that the dogs’ time must be “less than”, “under” or “within” SCT to qualify.
    • Revision to AAC Rulebook v7.0b section 2.11.  Motion 180112.  Effective:  February 15, 2018. To clarify that when the time is set over SCT in Snooker, dogs can still qualify, providing the time recorded is LESS THAN OR EQUAL to the SCT (for example in Masters Snooker, if the SCT is set to 60 but the dog runs the course in less than (or equal o) 55 seconds, the dog can still Q if it has sufficient points. The same should be true for the 2nd horn in Gamblers.
    • Addition of laser measuring devices for measuring dogs.  Motion 180217.  Effective:  February 15, 2018. 
  • 2018 AGM meeting be held at 1:00pm PST, April 21, 2018 in conjunction with the Dogwood Pacesetters trial at Smith Training Equipment’s facility in Abbotsford, BC.
  • To accommodate Judges if they are not a residents of Canada, and to remove the conflict with the AAC bylaws section 2.8, a revision to the Judges Training and Qualification Policy & Procedure and Judges Policy & Procedure from:  “Be a Regular member in good standing” to: “Be a Regular/Associate member in good standing” was approved.

Highlights of the AAC Board meeting held on Thursday, January 18, 2018.

  • Appointment of Cindy Swiney as the AAC’s Regional and National Course Coordinator.
  • An Off Course Newsletter and the On Course Quarterly edition will be released to all AAC members by Constant Contact (email).
  • Shirley Ann Redl, Bev Johnson, and Isabelle Michaud retired as AAC Judges.  The AAC would like to extend a thank you for their contribution to the AAC.
  • IT Solutions for the AAC recently were to identify why emails distributed by AAC were being rejected by ISP addresses of recipients.  The vendor has recommended that AAC turn on an “authentication” setting which will facilitate recipient’s systems to recognize the AACs emails as other than junk. The AAC applied this change on January 11/18 and it will take effect within roughly 24 hours. Future email headers will change but nothing else and it is expected that this will reduce distribution issues. In addition, email accounts that had been blocked automatically as they include admin or webmaster in their email name have been advised and they have been offered the opportunity to have another email address replace the address initiating the errors.The user accounts on the AAC website have been used to update the AAC’s distribution lists.  The voting membership has been updated.
  • Judges Clinic Pre-Exams for Starters, Advanced and Masters have been updated and implemented.
  • AAC National Team selection process for 2018-2019 National Team
    • Will require applicant’s dogs to jump IFCS heights at the AAC National Championships and they will be scored at AAC National Championships in the class, and against the dogs, they are competing with.  They can be awarded ribbons and placements in that class.
    • Scoring criteria will include that a 10% slower than the fastest dog penalty time faults would be based on the dogs competing for the national team and not the fastest dog competing at nationals.
    • Clarification for team medals in calculations for win on spots:  will be similar to last year, medals won at worlds with team events are recognized on the wall of fame but unfortunately are not counted as part of win on spots.   This is due to the difficulty of determining the success of the individual dogs as multiple runs go into the calculation of team scores at worlds and a dog who was part of a medal team may have only run one run in the calculation of the team medal.]
    • 2018-2019 National Team Application revised to include an optional attached letter of consideration to waive the mandatory trial requirements in extenuating circumstances such as not enough trails offered in the local area during the year. This provides an opportunity for dogs/handlers in remote areas where only 1 or 2 trials are held a year, as it is recognized that it may be financially difficult to meet the mandatory trial requirements.The letters of consideration would need to be approved by the National Team Management Group and the AAC Board prior to tryouts at AAC National Championships.
  • Rule Updates/Clarifications/Amendments:
    • Section 2.12 of the AAC Rulebook v2.0b is to be updated to include “Should the Timer not restart the ETS as instructed, refer to section 2.11 Timer Malfunction.”  The clarification will be effective immediately and is to be communicated to the Judges.

Highlights of the AAC Board meeting held on Thursday, December 21, 2017.

  • The Board would like to offer a thank you and recognition to Claire Duder for her contribution as Editor for both the Judges Handbook and AAC Rulebook.
  • The AAC is committed to the just, reasonable and equitable treatment of each and every member of our agility community. In keeping with this commitment, the AAC has initiated the steps to create an Ombudsman role.  The Terms of Reference for an Ombudsman role were approved.
  • A Rulebook and Handbook Policy and Procedure v1.0 that outlined the development, maintenance, review and publishing process and controls required to ensure that AAC Handbooks and Rulebooks are accurate, current, appropriately available, and approved by the required and authorized individuals was approved.
  • Judges Training and Qualification Policy and Procedure v2.1 approved and implemented.ACE to host an AAC Masters Judges Clinic April 14-15, 2018 in Edmonton, AB.
  • Rule Updates/Clarifications/Amendments:
    • Trial Host Responsibility to Judges upon Cancellation of a Trial Policy approved.
    • Clarification for weave poles:  “The dog must perform the poles correctly before going to the next obstacle in sequence, or it will incur a non-completion penalty unless brought back to retry.”
    • Addition of re-run option for time only if timer equipment malfunction occurs at regular trials.  Motion 171223 is an update of motion 060501.  Effective:  July 1/18.
  • Regionals Championships:
    • 2018 Regionals for MB/SK/NU will be hosted by ‘Peg City Dog Sports at the Sagehill Stables at Winnipeg, MB on May 18-20, 2018.
    • Site Change for:  2018 Regionals for Nova Scotia will be hosted by CAANS at the East Hants Sportsplex, Lantz, Nova Scotia on May 19-20, 2017.
    • Provincial Agilite Quebec 2020 (PAQ2020), will be host to the 2020 QC Regional Agility Championship on June 20-21, 2020 at the Stade de soccer Honco, Levis, Quebec.



JOB POSTING - Business Analyst/ Project Manager

The Business Analyst is expected to conduct business analysis and information collection with the objectives of establishing requirements. The successful candidate will be an adept problem solver with an understanding of business issues and challenges and the skills to resolve and turn challenges into successful solutions.


  • Facilitate sessions with large groups of stakeholders
  • Gather, manage and analyze requirements specifications
  • Review and edit requirements, specifications, processes and recommendations related to a proposed solution
  • Work with the team and partners to define scope; identify, create, update uses cases and workflows, and provide functional specifications
  • Maintain consistency between the needs and the proposed solutions
  • Understand solutions and evaluate their functional impacts
  • Take the initiative to resolve assigned issues efficiently
  • Provide technical guidance and consultation to the AAC Board on AAC IT solutions regarding changes and enhancements.
  • Work with the AAC solutions providers to define approved database changes and enhancements.
  • Work with the AAC solutions providers to implement and test changes and enhancements.

The Business Analyst is expected to quickly and comprehensively evolve their understanding of the domain. The highest level of confidentiality with AAC information is expected.


  • A positive "Can Do" attitude and an aptitude to learn quickly and ask the right questions 
  • An eye for detail 
  • Bachelor's degree IT or MIS related or equivalent is great but not a showstopper
  • 5-8 years in a similar role is preferred
  • An ability to create positive and professional relationships
  • A solid experience with business modeling, functional analysis/design and documentation (functional specifications, use cases, activity diagrams, flowcharts, business rules)
  • The ability to clearly present ideas and information in group settings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An in depth understanding of database structure and administration
  • Superior problem resolution and analytical skills, be highly organized, with an ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work independently with minor supervision
  • Must own a computer capable of performing the duties required
  • An understanding of the AAC, its rules and policies is an asset
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
  • Membership in AAC is an asset


This is an independent contractor position.  The duration of the contract is 2 months (which may be extend on approval from the AAC board of Directors).

The hourly rate will be negotiated based on experience.

 Agility Association of Canada

The AAC has been asked to consider hosting the 2020 IFCS World Agility Championships. As an agility association of volunteers, it isn’t practical for the board and employees to contemplate such a huge undertaking but there may be groups in Canada who would like to take on the challenge. The Board has agreed to accept expressions of interest and/or proposals for evaluation.

Because AAC would ultimately be responsible for all aspects of the event (the overriding contract must be between IFCS and AAC according to their rules) we would need to treat the event much like a Nationals. We have documents that spell out the relationship and interaction between AAC and the Host group and we would use those documents as a starting point for the process. The Nationals Prep Work document is attached for reference.

There are added levels of complexity because this is an international event put on by IFCS. There are a host of questions that need to be considered over and above a Nationals event such as:

  • There are travel considerations for competitors and their dogs
    • Visas
    • Health certificates
    • Flight limitations
    • Appropriate accommodations
  • Uncertainty of participation because of distances involved for international countries
  • Appropriate venues
  • Added risk factors associated with an event like this will make the financial return harder to gauge.
  • Judge expenses higher than our normal because of a requirement for international representation.
  • There are expenses associated with IFCS officials
  • And others

Although the challenge may be daunting, we do have access to results from previous events and since it takes place annually in many different countries, there is a lot of experience we can draw into.

There is not a necessity to submit a formal proposal right now, but we would like to see if there are groups out there who would entertain being the AAC Host for this prestigious event. From an expression of interest, we would develop a process to help develop a proposal and then evaluate the proposal(s).
